LaWin products are based on a visually transparent glass-glass capillary element with Gen-1 sizes of up to ~ 2.00 m x 1.50 m. The thickness of this element is adapted to the thickness of individual glass sheets used in standard double/tripple-glazing windows (depending on acoustic insulation properties, this may reach from 4 mm to 6 mm). As a result, facile assembly with standard window manufacturing processes is ensured. For example, depending on application, the capillary element may be positioned so that is faces the interior (heating/cooling) or exterior (heat collector) of a room, or both. The channels within the capillary element are used for circulation of a liquid, whereby several plates can be connected in series (or parallel) across a complete façade or building skin:
The technology behind LaWin comprises of three key components:
Hot glass forming (1), glass-glass lamination (2) and window assembly (3)
